It was pretty quiet here for the last month, due to the fact that I was busy working on other personal projects and client work. But I promise to make up for my absence by posting a bunch of articles over the coming days, starting with this one here. Yesterday I found out that one of my wood textures has been used by an artist called PeNr1 and he published his artwork called “Filling the trashcan” on Deviantart. Here is a link to PeNr1’s Deviantart portfolio. I am happy to see, how my textures are being put to use!
Famous Smashing Magazine published a huge inspirational post, which showcases loads of websites that use either patterns or textures as a background. And the best thing about it – highresolutiontextures.com has been included in the “wood” category! This is smashing news and such an honor.
One of my favorite resource websites bittbox.com has a great tutorial on how to enhance paper textures in order to create a unique grunge paper effect. Head on over to the tutorial. Next to that, the website has a great freebie section with lots of Illustrator and Photoshop brushes and a few more tutorials on how to create you own textures in Photoshop.
