A while ago, I presented to you a few newcomer websites that are also focussing on hi-res textures. In the meantime, I was approached by Justin, who recently set up a great site called LoveTextures and with this feature post I would like to welcome this friendly new member to the texture community.

Digital Photography School, one of the biggest blogs about photography, has a great article with 10 tips for shooting graphic textures. This is a must read for all aspiring texture photographers, if they want to find out, how they can achieve better results.
Over the last 2-3 weeks, lots of different articles about and collections with various high resolution textures have been published all over the design community. In this post, I would like to present the most important ones, in order to make sure that you don’t miss any of the action. So let’s get right to it:
Web Design Ledger is a relatively young web design blog, which delivers high quality content with every post they publish. Their latest article features 30 brilliant vintage textures created by several artists on deviantart. There are lots of wallpaper, grunge and floral textures available, so head on over there in order to grab some great images!

Shortly after I started this blog, I was approached by Caleb, who informed me that he was doing a similar thing over at lostandtaken.com. And indeed, he also offers high resolution textures and gives them away for free. We decided to join forces instead of trying to compete against each other and as a consequence he send me over a nice little texture pack, which contains 7 high-res images of rust. After you have enjoyed the pictures below, make sure to visit his blog, which recently got a fresh re-design, in order to grab more of his brilliant photos!
In this post I would like to thank a few people for sending lots of traffic my way in the last few weeks.
1. Fabio Sasso of abduzeedo.com
Fabio is one of the guys behind design collective abduzeedo and also one the main contributors over at psdtuts.com. His photoshop tutorials are always top-notch! I was lucky enough to be included in their post Best of week #26.
